Sony is dropping the price of the PS5 by $100 for Black Friday

Black Friday is fast approaching on November 28, and leading up to the event, PlayStation has announced its upcoming deals on the PlayStation 5 (PS5) and accessories, which start on November 21.

Starting with the PS5, Sony has announced it will reduce the price by $100 for Black Friday, offering the PS5 Digital Edition 825GB Fortnite bundle for $400 and a 1TB PS5 Fortnite bundle for $450. The Fortnite bundle included with the console features exclusive in-game content and 1,000 V-Bucks. Additionally, Sony will take $100 off the PS5 Pro, lowering its price to $650 from $750.

Sony states these PS5 deals will be available directly on the PlayStation Direct Store and at “participating local retailers,” which likely includes stores such as Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and GameStop.

Earlier this year, Sony raised the price of each PS5 model in the US by $50 due to a “challenging economic environment,” which many interpreted as code for the impacts of tariffs. So knocking $100 off the PS5 for Black Friday helps ease the sting a bit.

A reminder that while this sale is for Black Friday, the deals start on Friday, November 21, a whole week before Black Friday on November 28, so you’ll have lots of time to take advantage of them. Tons of digital PS5 and PS4 games will be on sale starting November 21 as well

Along with its PS5 deals, Sony has announced discounts on its PlayStation Plus online membership and PS5 accessories, such as controllers and headsets, for Black Friday.

For PlayStation Plus, Sony is offering a 33 percent discount on a 12-month membership. If you’re currently a PlayStation Plus member and want to upgrade to a different tier for 12 months, you can get 33 percent off that as well. This promotion runs from November 21 to December 5.

As for PS5 accessories, Sony has announced a variety of deals, including $20 off the PlayStation Portal, which was recently updated with cloud streaming capabilities, $100 off the PlayStation VR2, and $20 off DualSense wireless controllers. If you’re planning to purchase a PS5 this holiday season, Black Friday is definitely the best time to do so. Since the PS5’s price was hiked earlier this year, these deals help offset that increase.
