One of my favorite industry intersections is between wellness and tech. Wearables put hyper-personalized data right at your fingertips, sleep-focused devices are shaping up to be better than melatonin, and all sorts of gadgets exist with the aim of improving tiny (or massive) aspects of your life.
I’m always following the up-and-coming devices and tuning into the latest research around health and wellbeing. I don’t splurge on every viral TikTok Shop product — something truly has to stand out to earn a place in my arsenal, and it usually isn’t cheap or short-lived.
So, I’ve rounded up my favorite wellness-centered gadgets of the last year, all of which have substantial Black Friday discounts. Here are the seven products I’d buy new and again for my wellness-loving loved ones.
BodyGuardz Red Light Converter screen protector
Staring at your phone is… good for you?
I’ve indulged in red light therapy for years, and even have heavy-duty blue-light-blocking glasses (see my list of favorites from last year) to protect my eyes from being bombarded by screens all day, every day. A few months ago, I splurged on yet another blue-light barrier — this time, one that stops it at its source: a red light converting screen protector for my iPhone 16 Pro from BodyGuardz. It was even a 2025 CES Innovation Awards Honoree.
Not only has it been an incredible screen protector (there was one 5AM run club where it slipped out of my hand and flew 10 feet in the air before smacking screen-first into the asphalt without a single scratch), but it’s also noticeably reduced my eye-strain while I look at my phone throughout the day. The converters are third-party verified to emit light within the effective red light therapy range, which has a myriad of benefits, such as:
- Improving sleep
- Boosting skin health with anti-aging effects
- Reduces inflammation
- Supporting recovery and cellular function
It installs easily (which is usually a process I dread), shows no red tint during daily use, and I’ll be buying more for the blue-light-sensitive people in my life this Friday.
Brick
Take your day (and life) back
It’s no secret we’re all super-glued to our little supercomputer screens much more than we have to every day. My screen time reached six-plus hours a day, and after doing the math, I was on track to spend well over a decade of my life staring at a phone.
Brick helped me slash that number quickly. The growing pains were hard at first, and I couldn’t just hop on Instagram to watch a few Reels between meetings without standing up, walking over to my Brick, and un-Bricking my phone. Just a little inconvenience led me to avoid it entirely when I wasn’t using social media for something specific. Sure, my Snapchats streaks disappeared almost overnight, but such was the cost of gaining my life back.
Brick’s entire site is up to 30% off for Black Friday. One individual Brick (which usually costs $60) is on sale right now for $47.20 — a solid 20% off. It works with both Android and iOS devices, so no one’s left out. It may seem strange to pay to ‘brick’ your device, but if you know anyone approaching an existential crisis about their screen time, a Brick makes the perfect gift.
Oura Ring 4
My favorite wearable and sleep savior
I’ve been an Oura user for over two years, and I can confidently say I’ve convinced over a dozen people to don the smart ring during that time. Oura rings are a distraction-free wearable that doubles as sleek jewelry (many of my friends were baffled to realize that it was gadgetry at all) to help you collect hyper-personalized health data like sleep insights, stress management, cycle tracking, and much more.
Within the Oura app, there’s an AI advisor that can take all of your data and help you understand your metrics and even create actionable health plans with you from a holistic perspective. I recently ran a half-marathon and used it to help me come up with a recovery plan.
Oura rings are the wearable I recommend the most as a tech editor, which is definitely saying something. Admittedly, they’re a little pricey — which is why it’s the best time ever to buy one. Right now, all the Titanium Oura Ring 4 models are up to a staggering $150 off for Black Friday, which is the lowest price I’ve ever seen them. There’s an annual subscription that adds up to just over $70 a year, but if you don’t mind skipping one vanilla latte a month, you’ll be right as rain.

Powerbeats Pro 2
The only earbuds I’d buy over AirPods Pro 3
The Powerbeats Pro 2 are like the AirPods Pro 3’s understudy — not necessarily the one you expect to walk out on stage, but they perform beautifully, with unique surprises of their own. I prefer the Powerbeats Pro 2 to the AirPods Pro 3 for three reasons: color choice, ear hooks, and lack of frill.
Four sleek colorways speak volumes over Apple’s generic white option, but the ear hook is a flexible piece of hardware I prefer to the free ear stem the AirPods sport. As a runner and yogi, I’m either moving fast or completely upside down, and I need buds that I’m confident won’t fall out at any angle. The ear hooks provide that peace of mind. Plus, the Powerbeats Pro 2 sport the same H2 chip that the AirPods Pro 3 do, but the only major feature missing is the brand new Live Translation feature. I care much more about battery life, and that’s where the Beats shine brighter in the spotlight with 10 hours of playback and up to 45 hours with the charging case.
For Black Friday, the Powerbeats Pro 2 are $50 off on Amazon. They’re a deal I’d make again for the $200 they’re retailing for right now, and have a much brighter personality than the AirPods everyone else seems to be popping in their ears.

Hatch Restore 3
Which just hit a new record-low price
If you comb through my other articles, you’ll notice immediately that I’m Hatch’s #1 fan. The sunrise alarm clock changed the way I began and ended the day for the better, and sits pretty enough on my nightstand that I consider it high-tech decor any time it isn’t playing soothing sounds or waking me up with an iconic Love Island greeting.
The Restore 3 is a gift I recommend every single year, and it’s always a crowd-pleaser. For Black Friday, it’s on sale for $135 — which is the lowest price it’s ever been listed. Hello, new record. The $35 discount lasts from today, November 26, through Monday, December 1.

Hatch Restore 3 is Hatch Sleep’s latest alarm clock, which allows users to avoid using their phones completely at bedtime. The alarm clock allows users to set custom chimes and to “rise with the sun” as light begins to rise thirty minutes before it’s time to wake up.

Canopy Bedside Humidifier 2.0
Your skin, nose, and throat will thank you
A humidifier, really? Yes — this one specifically. I first heard about the benefits of using a humidifier on the Skinny Confidential Podcast several years ago and was a complete skeptic until I bit the bullet and bought this one.
After a few weeks, my skin was visibly more hydrated. I woke up fewer times in the night needing to guzzle all the water on my nightstand because of a dry throat, and even noticed my breathing becoming easier whenever I was in that room. I was sniffling a lot less in the morning. The Canopy Humidifier 2.0 uses special filters, has a smart sensor to help inhibit mold growth (which I find the most annoying about other humidifiers), has mostly dishwasher-safe components for easy cleaning, and uses evaporative technology that pushes water seamlessly into the air without any mist. There’s no condensation in or around the machine, which is one of my biggest pet peeves.
Did I mention it has a white noise machine, ambient light, and an aroma diffuser on top? The aesthetics are just as important to me as function, especially if I’m expected to put anything next to my Restore 3 on my nightstand.
For Black Friday, the Canopy Bedside Humidifier 2.0 is $40 off. I’ve been kicking myself all morning for not waiting for this sale, since I bought it at full price several months ago for $160. Can you get any cheap humidifier and receive the same results? Arguably, perhaps. However, wellness tech is something I don’t like to cheap out on, especially when it comes to aesthetics and quality. It’s your health, after all.
Etekcity smart scale
Progress tracking and health optimization
Scales are a controversial topic. Sometimes, they do more harm than good and foster unhealthy habits. However, as I got more serious about my marathon- and weight-training, I needed something a little more specific to help me keep track of my health goals this year. After a few weeks of research, I opted for this Etekcity smart scale, and I’m more than happy with my experience.
While it’s a very accurate scale, many are. What makes it stand out is its display — it’s bright, big, and easy enough to read every statistic without bending down to look at it. Plus, since it’s a smart device, it syncs up immediately with my phone for easy viewing right in its companion app. It calculates 14 metrics, including weight, BMI, body fat, heart rate, and more. I only really use it for weight and body fat, but having the other measurements available at my fingertips helps me paint a more complete picture of my health — especially combined with data from my Oura Ring 4.
Right now for Amazon’s Black Friday sale, the Etekcity smart scale is on sale for $68.
The Etekcity smart scale is HSA and FSA-eligible.
