OnePlus is closing out the year with two devices aimed at tightening its North American lineup. The OnePlus 15R and the OnePlus Pad Go 2 will both be unveiled on December 17, bringing the company’s flagship design language into a more accessible segment—something the brand has been gradually refining with its R-series strategy.
OnePlus 15R
The 15R carries over the visual identity of the main OnePlus 15, including a flat metal mid-frame and a camera housing rotated exactly 45 degrees from the top-left corner. It is the kind of consistency that helps the R-series feel like part of the flagship family rather than a step down. What stands out, though, is durability. OnePlus lists IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K IP protection rating—an unusually broad combination for a mainstream device. In everyday terms, the phone is certified against dust, immersion, and even high-pressure water jets without adopting the chunky silhouette of rugged phones.
What OnePlus is holding back for the launch event are the core specs: processor, display, camera system, and battery. Those details tend to define the R-series balancing act—strong performance at a more affordable price point—and the company is keeping them under wraps for now. Although some external speculation connects the 15R to the Ace series in China, the confirmed story for North America is simple: the 15R brings the flagship design philosophy to a more budget-friendly band of the market, filling a gap we highlighted earlier when covering the OnePlus 15’s debut.
OnePlus Pad Go 2

Announced alongside the phone, the OnePlus Pad Go 2 aims to offer a smoother, more refined tablet experience without drifting into flagship pricing. For U.S. and Canadian buyers, the company confirms a Shadow Black colorway with an anti-glare glass finish—a clean, understated design that fits naturally into the OnePlus ecosystem.
OnePlus is also introducing the first stylus in the Pad Go series, the OnePlus Pad Go 2 Stylo. It is positioned as an accessory for note-taking, sketching, and light productivity, hinting at how the company sees this tablet evolving beyond simple media consumption. As with the phone, detailed specs such as resolution, refresh rate, and chipset are being saved for the December reveal.
There is one important regional difference: the North American version of the Pad Go 2 will be Wi-Fi only. OnePlus explicitly states that 5G network capabilities will not be available on units sold in the U.S. and Canada.
Together, the OnePlus 15R and Pad Go 2 round out OnePlus’ end-of-year strategy—devices that look cohesive alongside the flagship 15 while appealing to buyers who want premium design without premium pricing. The full technical picture arrives on December 17, but the early information already points to a more structured and competitive North American lineup for 2025.
